ON DEEP CHANNEL STABILITY IN THE LEIZHOU BAY

With the measured data on topography, hydrology and sediment distribution, this paper discussed the evolution of coastal erosion and deposition pattern, hydrodynamics and sedimentary environment of the Leizhou Bay.The stability of deep channel was evaluated.The research results suggest that the sediment input is low in the Leizhou Bay and shoals and deep channels remain stable.It is feasible to construct a deepwater harbor there.
