Abstract
In the North Yellow Sea Basin, the Mesozoic reservoirs are deeply buried and drastic lithological changes occur in both the vertical and lateral directions. The velocity of sandstone is close to that of mudstone there. Therefore, it is difficult to use conventional logs to inverse reservoir characteristics. However, the pressure wave velocity, shear wave velocity and density parameters could be obtained from prestack simultaneous inversion, and then converted them into other sensitive parameters for lithology, porosity and effectively reservoir prediction. In this paper, prestack simultaneous inversion technology was applied to the predication of Mesozoic reservoir in the North Yellow Sea Basin. Sandstone geometry in some important traps is described in details and the good result has been obtained.
