Abstract:
The evolution of the Qingshuigou lobes of the Yellow River in the past 30years is studied in details in this paper. Composite false color remote sensing images since 1976 were used for detecting the changes in shoreline and river channels. Bathymetric data from 1976 to 2005 were processed for study of the depositional and erosional pattern of the subaqueous delta of Qingshuigou lobe. The evolution of the subaqueous delta was divided into 4 phases, multi-center depositional phase, single stable depositional phase, slow depositional phase and depositional erosional phase as the response to the evolution of Qingshuigou channel. Moreover, the factors influencing the evolution of the deltaic lobe were investigated.
