Abstract: Weihai City is rich in geothermal resources in the Jiaodong Peninsula.The Baoquantang hot spring is located in the east of Weihai City and contains a variety of trace elements and minerals.It is a hot spring of Cl-Na·Ca type controlled by the Shendaokou fault trending in NW and the Chengnanhe fault trending in EW.Atmospheric precipitation and sea water circulation are active along the fractures.The estimated circulation depth is about 2022.14 m.Due to the weakening effect of water on fault and its wall rocks,we discussed the deep circulation and energy discharge of the hot spring water and its effect to mitigate the activity of fault and earthquakes.
